Getting Here
This page contains: Directions to the Ice Castles by Car, Parking Directions, and Directions of how to get here by Bus. See below for more information for each heading.
The ice castles are located on the lawn at the Town Pavilion, in Silverthorne, Colorado at 400 Blue River Parkway, Silverthorne, Colorado. We are on the East side of the road, less than 1/4 of a mile from the I70 Freeway. You can see a picture of the Silverthorne Pavilion Lawn on the Google map at the bottom of this page.
By Car: If you are coming to the ice castles traveling west on I70 from Denver or traveling east from Vail, take exit 205 and head North on Highway 9 toward the Town of Silverthorne or toward Steamboat Springs.
—- NOTE FOR PRESIDENTS DAY WEEKEND —-
The parking lot by the ice castle is filling up and visitors will need to use the overflow lot. The second video below will show how to get there from the ice castle. We also have signs directing visitors to the Outlet Mall Parking lot. Again, the second video shows you how to get to that lot, and the third video shows how to walk to the Ice Castle from that Lot. Please use this lot if you can do a 2 minute walk and leave the parking lot by the ice Castle for elderly and families with small children. Thank you!
The 2 minute video below will show you how to get from the Freeway to the Ice Castle parking lot: (note comment above, that this lot is very full this weekend)
Parking: Visitors to the ice castles can park in the Town Pavilion parking lot which is right next to the Ice Castle. The parking spaces can be seen on the map at the bottom of this page – it’s the triangle shaped parking lot surrounding a small lawn. The Ice Castle is immediately to the north on the large lawn.
If the PARKING LOT IS FULL – please watch the following clip to show you how to get to the overflow parking lot.
By Bus: If you are staying at a nearby resort (anywhere from Leadville to Breckenridge) you can take the Summit Stage – FREE BUS – to Silverthorne. We are literally just across the street from the Silverthorne Transfer Station.
Map showing the Ice Castles location (the grassy lawn) and parking lot (triangular shape around a triangular lawn with trees). You can click on the map to zoom in or out or to pan around. The overflow parking lot is the small lot in the bottom right corner. If you pan the map to the right, you can see additional parking in the Outlet Mall Parking lot as well as the walking bridge that crosses the Blue River.
